    As part of ongoing discussions with the government of Sudan, U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan Rich Williamson arrived in Khartoum on May 28, 2008 for a weeklong stay. Special Envoy Williamson held talks with senior government officials of the Government of National Unity and the Government of Southern Sudan.

Anniversary of CPA Implementation
Today marks the mid-point for the six-year implementation of interim measures laid out in Sudan's Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). Three years ago, the Presidency of the Government of National Unity was sworn in, inaugurating the processes of power and wealth-sharing embodied in the agreement.
